We are MCS certified under NAP-75287, TrustMark registered, RECC members and REFCOM registered for the refrigerant work, and we are the same team on your job from the survey through to the handover.
MCS certification is the part that matters financially. It is what makes a solar system eligible for export payments under the Smart Export Guarantee, and it is what lets us claim the Boiler Upgrade Scheme voucher on a heat pump, worth £7,500 on gas, or £9,000 where the house is off the gas grid on oil or LPG. The voucher comes off the quote before you pay anything. Solar panels and batteries are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027, whether or not the battery goes in with panels.

Questions we get asked
How much do solar panels cost?
Solar with a battery starts at £6,995 installed, for a smaller system that can be added to later; more panels and a bigger battery move it up from there. What actually moves the number is the roof, not the badge on the panel: how many pitches we have to work across, whether it is tile, slate or something that needs stripping, how far the cable run is to the consumer unit and what the scaffold has to reach. Do I still get the £7,500 heat pump grant in 2026?
Yes. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme pays £7,500 towards an air source heat pump, and £9,000 where the property is off the gas grid on oil or LPG. You need a valid EPC without outstanding loft or cavity wall insulation recommendations, and the installer has to be MCS certified. We apply for the voucher on your behalf and it comes off the quote, so you never pay it out and claim it back.
Is a battery worth it without solar?
It can be, and it comes down to your tariff rather than your roof. On an off-peak rate you fill the battery overnight at the cheap unit price and run the house off it through the day, and the saving is the gap between the two rates multiplied by what you actually shift. Batteries are zero-rated for VAT until 31 March 2027 whether or not panels go in with them. If you are retired and home all day using power as you make it, panels are usually the better first spend.
Who actually does the work?
Our own team, and the same faces job to job. The surveyor who prices your job stays on it, so you are not handed to somebody who has never seen the house. The electrical work is certified and notified, and the MCS, DNO and grant paperwork is ours to sort, not yours.
What happens at the first visit?
We come out, look at the roof or the plant room, ask what you actually use and when, and give you a ballpark there and then. For a heat pump the next step is a chargeable survey at between £250 and £450, which buys the room-by-room heat loss calculation and the system design, and that is what the firm price is built on.
What does MCS certified actually mean for me?
It means an independent body audits our design and installation work against a standard, and it is the certificate your energy supplier asks for before paying you for exported solar. It is also the condition of the heat pump grant. Ours is NAP-75287. What each accreditation means.
